about the new towny [26 Apr 2020|08:40pm] Hello and welcome to the new version of ~Towny. You all may remember this game from back in 2008! First off me and my co-moderator want to let you know that this game is under new management. After a lot of time and effort, I finally was able to get the old moderator to trade the game to me! I was here before and I was one of those people severely disappointed by the games death and all of the failed games that came after it. The game is a secret based game and used to be set in St. Cloud, MN. We are still secret based and still set in Minnesota - but we are now set in the town of Plymouth! The old towny was also an apartment complex game and we are not keeping that. Your characters can still live with parents, with a roommate, in an apartment, house or condo - so long as they live in Plymouth. Topnotch schools, good jobs, affordable housing, low crime, an active outdoor culture - yep, they're pretty much all here. Plymouth could have become just another Twin Cities suburb, but more than 50,000 jobs keep residents working there. The city's main school district is ranked among the top three in the state, and for culture, Plymouth's open-air amphitheater, the Hilde Performance Center, hosts numerous summer concerts. Residents are a quick drive from the Mall of America, the nation's biggest mall. And did we mention the outdoors? Plymouth boasts more than half a dozen sizable bodies of water. Of course, this being Minnesota, winter can be brutal: January's average low temperature is about 13°F. But when the mercury plummets, the locals get busy. In February the city hosts a Fire & Ice Festival that includes mini-golf, bowling and basketball - all right on the ice. *DISCLAIMER You are free to bring your old characters here however we are not the old moderators and our tastes may very well differ. rules: read before joining [26 Apr 2019|07:37pm] Rules.. guidelines.. we got em'. We wanna make them pretty and basic to keep some options open to you while playing! 001. First off, characters are required to be at least 18 years of age. You can bring your teenagers to numerous games on this server and we wanna leave the game open to adults. 002. When it comes to aim, we do require it. It makes things a little more easier for communication between players and characters. Your aim names should be in character and basic. Don't go insane with numbers and the letter x - no matter how emo your character may be. 003. Journal names should also be in character! No underscores, numbers or random words please! 004. In character drama is something we love and adore because it keeps things interesting! Out of character drama is something we hate because it drives away good players and kills games. Be mature and all matters that might be bugging you should be brought to a moderator. If not, we'll be forced to remove people participating in ooc drama! Don't cross that line. 005. This is one of the most important rules we have: activity. Activity is important. Once accepted into the game you should post a character introduction in our intro community. You will have three days to do this before automatically being removed. For activity? You have a couple options. You can post a COMPLETED thread / log in our threading community or you can update your character's journal with something SUBSTANTIAL. You must do this once every 2 weeks. application [26 Apr 2009|07:44pm] We're doing things a little differently! To get into this game, you have to be able to... write! You know those things called threads and scenes? Examples are important here! For your examples - please link us to your example journal in the screened post! We do not require a first entry but we do require a public friends only post that says what your character's secret is somewhere. We also highly suggest that yes, you do have an idea of what your character is like even if we aren't requiring you to take hours on detailed facts or a bio. Putting this together was extremely hard and we do not have the time to comment everyone. There are two moderators in this game and we both decided to have equal say while reviewing the applications. Your examples were not up to standard or written in the style we are looking for or you failed to read the rules / apply properly.
